Everyone at AICE is delighted to congratulate Professor Angus Watson on being awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the King’s New Year Honours, recognising his services to research and surgical care.
Angus is a key member of the AICE project team, and we are proud to work alongside him. His career spans clinical practice, research and education, and he has been closely involved in major initiatives shaping colorectal diagnostics in the UK, including ScotCap and the current ColoCap programme.
Angus also contributes to humanitarian healthcare through UK-Med, where he has volunteered to provide critical care in crisis zones, including deployments in Ukraine and in Gaza.
That breadth of experience, together with his ongoing contribution to AICE, is part of what makes this recognition so well deserved.
